Capt. Mike's Tournament

The Capt. Mike Hackshaw Memorial Tournament was revived after a few years of "too lazy to organize this year". 7 local boats entered and tournament headquarters was the new "Capt. Mike's Boatyard Bar & Grill" that had just opened a week earlier. This was designated a "meat" tournament with billfish not counting (this is to prohibit killing billfish to bring to the scales). Wouldn't you know it, we caught & released a nice 300+ pound Blue Marlin about an hour before "lines up" on day 2. Our "meat" fish included 2 Dorado (Dolphin Fish), each 31 pounds, and a little Barracuda that hit our bait as we were fighting the Blue Marlin. The winner of the tournament was my good friend Geoffo DuBoulay. His boat, "Beer Pressure" brought 281 pounds to the scales on day 1. They were skunked on day 2 but they didn't need any more to keep them in 1st place. A good time was had by all and the new "Capt. Mike's Boatyard Bar & Grill" proved to be the new hot watering hole in St. Lucia.
