Hullabaloo heading North
Hi all,
We are taking Hullabaloo back North for a refit and engine work in Fort Lauderdale. Departed St. Lucia on Friday, March 16. Tried to fuel up in Martinique, but the first place was missing the fuel dock from a hurricane. Went to the capital, Fort de France. No diesel. Life in the Caribbean. Went on to Dominica. Anchored for the night, tied to a coconut tree and got fuel in the morning. Ran to Guadeloupe on Saturday. A beautiful village for the anchorage.
Hullabaloo made her way North to Port Zante, St. Kitts today. Charlie, the dockmaster was drunk, so we had to tie up ourselves. We are spoiling ourselves in a marina tonight. Filled up with water and eating in a restaurant. It makes for a long day traveling at 7.5 knots. We are trying to cover 70-80 miles a day, depending on the location of islands. Tomorrow we should make it to Simson Bay, St. Martin. Then we start West to Virgin Gorda. Looking forward to having following seas. Internet availability has been spotty or non existent in the anchorages so far. Will try to keep things updated on the blog as time and connectivity permits.
Fair weather and following seas.
